Everyone has experienced it. That point in dieting where weight loss slows to a crawl or stops completely. Sometimes dieting just isn’t enough to lose weight. If you feel like you have been dieting forever and the pounds just stay put, it is time to look into a workout routine.
Everyone knows that exercise burns calories, but for many overweight people, the idea of jogging five miles or an intense aerobic workout is unrealistic. You have to be in shape to do those fitness activities, so starting an exercise routine with high energy activities, doesn’t make sense.
One of the best ways to jump start your diet is with hydraulic strength training. Because it isn’t a high impact exercise, everyone can do it. Some people are afraid to do any strength training when they are trying to lose weight, because they think it will make them bigger. While it is true that some body building workouts can increase your body’s mass, the right hydraulic strength training routine will help you to lose weight. Strength training tones your body and makes you look as if you have less body fat.
Strength training routines, like all forms of exercise raises your metabolism by burning calories and increasing your heart rate. Not only does your metabolism increase during a workout, it increases when you are resting. The more muscle you have on your body, the more calories your body burns at rest.
When you add the right strength training routine to your life, you can actually eat more and still lose weight. That is because your body needs to refuel after a workout, allowing you to consume more food than your weight loss diet may normally allow. This doesn’t mean that after a workout you can head to your local fast food joint and consume a hamburger, fries, and shake, but it does mean that you get to eat a few more good carbohydrates and proteins.
After a workout you need to replenish your energy with the right kinds of carbohydrates and protein. It is possible to still lose weight when your post workout meal consists of a nice sized steak and a side of rice or even oatmeal and a large serving of chicken.
Adding strength training to your diet is a great way to lose weight. Not only will you watch the numbers on the scale drop, your energy will increase and your appetite will recede, making it easier to stick to your diet.
